Officials from the South African Premiership side were in Harare at
the weekend and had a chance to watch the Warriors defender in action
during his team’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against
Monomotapa at Larfage which ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
It is believed the scouts from Pirates, who declined to say anything
about the player after the match, have been tracking the star player
for some time.
Gunners team manager Wellington Mupandare said there was nothing
official yet, when contacted for comment, but sources maintained that
the player was likely to go for trials with the Orlando Pirates.
“Orlando Pirates have been tracking him down for some time and at the
weekend some scouts from the club came to watch him in action. We are
not sure whether they want to sign him before trying him but there are
chances they want to have a look at him – so he might be
leaving for trials,” said the source.
Meanwhile former Dynamos midfielder Ashley Rambanepasi is also
reported to be eying a move to South African Premiership side Platinum
Stars. There are reports of unrest in the Gunners camp as players are
reported to have gone for months with being paid salaries and
allowances – a situation which has seen the former champions struggling
for form this season.
Gunners are still at the foot of the table with a paltry three points
from as many games.
