Brian Sydney Hein, an 87-year-old farmer based in Gweru, will be sentenced tomorrow (Monday).
AfriForum has learned that an 87-year-old farmer from Gweru, who is a South African citizen, will be sentenced on 13 June 2011 after being arrested and charged for not leaving his farm voluntarily, the organization said in a statement.
If he is found guilty, Heins sentence could include two years imprisonment in a Zimbabwean prison
Government spokesperson jimmy Manyi, could not be reached to comment on the plans by Afriforum at the time of going to press.
The group has previously taken the Zimbabwean government to court following its disrespect of property rights. Last week, the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria ruled in the favour of Afriforum and three Zimbabwean farmers paving the way for the sale of Zim government properties in Cape Town to raise money to compensate the farmers.
