In an interview with Showbiz last week Chamunorwa Mashoko said they were playing the singles during their popular Friday reggae shows at The Mannenberg.
“The singles have been well received by our fans,” he said, adding that they were in the process of distributing the singles to local radio stations.
The singles recorded live at The Mannenberg features the song Vavengi sung by lead vocalist Emmanuel Motsi.
The track Muti that has been a favourite. The laid-back track with a “Conscious Music Style” a popular music genre that has taken serious reggae lovers by storm.
The last song African Girl is a track that is set to be popular within women as it talks about the need to appreciate the roles played by African women in building our societies.
Transit Crew was one of Zimbabwe’s first reggae bands formed in 1988 and it has been in the industry for more than 20 years. The band was founded by Munya Brown, then a member of Misty in Roots. He worked with the group until a road accident led to his relocation to the United Kingdom, from where he is still mentoring the group.
