The five appeared in court today Thursday the 28th after the state had indicated that all evidence was available for trial to begin. However the state indicated it was not ready and has set trial date for the 5th of August.
The Students Solidarity Trust continues to support student victims of human rights violations by lending its voice to calls for reforms in the justice system. Most of the cases involving students have collapsed due to lack of evidence, a clear sign of bias from partisan prosecutors.
The continued dragging of these students in and out of court has a negative impact on their learning hence the need to see justice being delivered in the quickest possible time.
