Galas politicized

Members of the public have dismissed national galas as Zanu (PF) projects following the recent Heroesplash event that was held here last weekend.

"Yes we are commemorating our fallen heroes and heroines but this event should not be personalized by any political party. It is a day that belongs to all citizens not Zanu (PF) or any other political party.

"Zanu (PF) has no right whatsoever to use national platforms to propagate its political agendas. We are sick and tired of this act and it should stop," said a member of the public.

Lisa Mtomba shared the same sentiments: "We came here only to see Kapfupi, Sulumani (Chimbetu) and (Alick) Macheso and the very best of our local favourite musicians, not to be choked to death by revolutionary songs."

People who tuned in on television said they simply changed the channel.
