The Mimosa Mine side lost to Highlanders in a midweek fixture last week ending a 11 game unbeaten run at the hands of coach Rahman Gumbo. The team went on to draw with Motor action on Sunday.
After the 0-1 loss to Bosso in an away match at Barbourfields stadium, management responded by firing Assistant Coach Philani Mabhena in unclear circumstances.
Club chairman Tadson Zhou confirmed the development but refused to give further details saying the matter is being dealt with internally.
However sources said Mabhena had been suspended after management failed to understand why he remained behind in Bulawayo after the loss to Highlanders.
“All is not well in the camp. Too much pressure is being exerted on players and the technical team as top guys think we are losing stranglehold on championship title,” a top technical team official confided to The Zimbabwean.
Other inside sources revealed that Mimosa Mine management believes the team cannot fail to win the league because of the hefty investment pumped in through acquisition of best players in the domestic scene.
Platinum FC team features reigning soccer star Charles Sibanda and runner up Joel Ngodzo. Former Gunners lethal striker Noman Maroto is also part of the seasoned and talented squad.
