ZUM resurrects Musicians’ Day

The Zimbabwe Union of Musicians (ZUM) is set to rekindle the dying flame of the majestic Zimbabwe National Musicians’ Day commemorations, which has over the past years sunk into oblivion.

The rebirth of the colourful event has been set for its traditional venue, Gwanzura Stadium, on October 1 and 2. It will be take place at the same time as the International Music Day Celebrations.

This year’s power packed music extravaganza will attract Zimbabwe’s upcoming and seasoned musicians including regional and international stars.

The music festival will be held under the theme, “Anti Piracy and HIV/ Aids Awareness – Progress and Unity Through Music.”

ZUM national organising secretary, Robson Nyanzira was quoted in the local media saying, “We want to encourage cultural dialogue amongst Zimbabweans, the appreciation of diversity and foster a cultural peace and progress in the country.”
