Miss Zim Diamond finalists 2011

A bevy of intelligent beauties will battle it out for the title of Miss Zim Diamond next weekend.

The pageant focuses on encouraging young women to pave the way for financial freedom through Social Enterprise and working with various charities in the UK and Zimbabwe.

It is much more than just a beauty platform, with emphasis being placed on contestants who demonstrate entrepreneurial ability, commitment to charitable causes and who portray a positive image of the modern Zimbabwean woman and the beauty of Zimbabwe as a country. The finalists include:

Talent Mujaji, 20, dancer, model and actress. Studying Business. “I believe strongly in educating children which is why I support a charity called Project Yedu which helps children in Zimbabwe get educated.

Lorraine Chinouriri, 22, Christian & Founder and Managing Director of Recruitment Agency Young Eagles. “I have a deep rooted love for Zimbabwe and Miss ZimDiamond has given me a platform to market my country’s beauty.

People can not fully appreciate something they have not experienced,.”

Ashleigh Cloete, 23, Patron & Ambassador of the Lemba Children’s Charity in rural Mberengwa, which assists in promoting and enhancing educational needs for orphans.

“My future goals are to empower young women.” Pearl – Natasha Doherty. Junior political representative in Northern Ireland, international athlete.

“The platform created by Miss ZimDiamond means more than just being a title holder, it is the chance to represent my country in a fundamental step towards bringing Zimbabwe back onto the centre stage through media and cultural initiatives.”
