DeMbare in line for top prize?

Dynamos continue to make a loud shout for the championship and believe a third position on the league table following their win over fancied Gunners has put them in firm position to challenge for the ultimate prize of domestic football.

The Harare giants believe the result, which saw table-toppers Motor Action and FC Platinum playing to draws at the weekend, has given them ammunition to challenge for the league championship.

In the past two weeks, Dynamos has managed to pick six points and have reduced the gap between them and Motor Action to three points.

"The team is playing well and the guys are hungry to win something after we picked up maximum points in the last two matches. I think we are now strong challengers for the title. Of course it's too early to say who will win the title but we can certainly not be ruled out," says Dynamos captain Desmond Maringwa, who is still nursing an injury.

The Mighty Bulls have 42 points, the same as second-placed FC Platinum. Motor Action reclaimed top spot on goal difference despite a 0-0 draw against Zimbabwe Saints at White City.

FC Platinum, who were the log leaders before they were toppled by Motor Action, had also dropped two crucial points by drawing 1-1 against Chicken Inn at Luveve.

Dynamos were the only team in the top half of the league to register a victory at the weekend.
