Nhema, a King Shaddy fan

Imagine seeing President Robert Mugabe nodding to the tunes of Winky D or Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai swaying to the sounds of Stunner.

It seems awkward, doesn’t it?

For those who have attended several environmental awareness campaigns by the minister of Environment and Natural Resources Management Francis Nhema, would not be taken by surprise.

Most of Nhema’s campaigns are incomplete without the sounds of youthful dancehall rising star King Shaddy who is currently riding high with his single Tribute to Chibadura.

In one of the most notable events held at Clare Mission school just outside Makoni South some time ago, Nhema was seen literally singing along word by word to King Shaddy’s ‘Letter to Amai Huni’, much to the delight of onlookers.

As if that was not enough he went on to ask volunteers who could imitate the sounds of King Shaddy before putting a prize on the table. The entire environmental campaign was turned into a talent search show, much to the delight of the crowd.
