Warriors rally ahead of Liberia showdown

Seasoned Dynamos hit man, Cuthbert "Gadafi" Malajila, who has been recalled to the Warriors as a direct replacement for injured talisman, Knowledge Musona, is upbeat ahead of the Warriors decisive African Cup of Nations Group A qualifier against Liberia at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.

With Musona effectively ruled out of the game after it became apparent that he would not be fit in time, Coach Norman Mapeza and his assistant Joey Antipas have roped in Malajila, the former Chapungu and Highlanders marksman. Gadafi, who is in his second spell at Dynamos after an aborted stay in strife-torn Libya, earned his nickname after fleeing the unrest in that country.

In an interview with The Zimbabwean this week, Malajila said he was ready for the battle against Liberia and said they needed to take advantage of playing at home.

"I was happy when I received a call from the coach asking me to join camp," said Malajila. "It's the wish of every player to play for his national team and I am really excited to be in the team. This is a massive game and we have to take advantage of playing at home and win this crucial match,” he said.
