Musona regained fitness ahead of this past weekend’s match away to Mainz 05 but could not heal fast enough to start. He sat on the bench as his team emerged 4-0 winners.
The 21-year-old, hailed as Zimbabwe’s brightest football star at the moment, has spent the last three weeks in the sidelines following a groin injury he suffered at training soon after joining the club from South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs.
His return to fitness is a welcome boost for the German club as they challenge for the league title.
Five games into the 2011/12 season, Hoffeinham are among the frontrunners.
They are placed fifth on the 16-team table with nine points, three less than favourites Bayern Munich, who lead the standings.
Musona, who last weekend missed the 3-0 win over Liberia in a 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier owing to his injury setback, joined Hoffeinham ahead of the new season after two seasons at Chiefs.
It is at the South African glamour club the Norton-born striker showed his prominence.
Last season, he starred for Amakhosi, earning a number of personal accolades.
