Moses Chokuda was murdered on 22 March 2009, allegedly by Farai Machaya (30) and five other Zanu (PF) supporters: Abel Maphosa (45) brothers Edmore Gana (27) and Bothwell Gana (25) Obert Gavi (23) and Tirivashoma Mawadze (25).
“It pains me that the murderers of my son are yet to meet their justice when it’s clear they committed the crime. My son suffered greatly until he breathed his last,” said Dambudzo Chokuda.
His son’s body is still at Gokwe District Hospital’s mortuary as his family has refused to bury him before justice is done. They also want an apology from the Governor, Jaison Machaya.
The case is expected to be heard in the next two weeks. High Court Judge Justice Nicholas Matonsi will preside, with Jameson Lex Dhlula and Wellington Takawira Mathemba as assessors.
