Sithole play to debut at Intwasa Festival

Produced by Zimbabwe’s most renowned artist based in Swaziland, Pedzisayi Sithole, the play, ‘My Water Broke’ will make its debut at the Intwasa Festival week-long festival to be held in Bulawayo on September 19.

Sithole explained that the play is aimed at promoting local talent and exposing artists to the international community to enable their growth in their arts industry.

The play was first staged at the Swaziland Theatre Club recently. It mainly addresses the challenges faced by women in their relationships during their pregnancy. It also exposes the problems women find themselves in due to pressure from their spouses and in-laws.

The Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo celebrates the rich and diverse arts of Zimbabwe. The programme includes music, theatre performances, workshops, discussions, readings and literary events, competitions, films, visual arts, and dance performances.

The festival will take place in different venues including National Gallery of Zimbabwe, Small City Hall, City Hall, Njube Hall, Khami Bar, Alabama Night Club, Pata Pata and JZ Ebunandini.
