The state told the court that on November 17 last year, Taonga Mutimbiri (22) of village Dhakwenda Headman Makore, chief Chireya in Gokwe North, was at his family home with his now deceased brother, Forget Mutimbiri, aged 24.
A misunderstanding erupted over household chores which resulted in Taonga stabbing his brother with a knife.
In his defence, Taonga Mutimbiri said the stabbing was accidental as the deceased fell onto the knife during a fight. Justice Matonsi, however, said the defence case was week and unbelievable.
“We find it unbelievable that the stabbing of the accused was accidental. Evidence by the medical officer shows that the piercing reached the heart suggesting that intense force was used in stabbing the deceased,” Justice Matonsi noted.
