The Zimbabwean justice system is increasingly becoming a more than a joke but a system that seeks to undermine the very principal of justice. On March 22nd 2012 MDC Youth President Solomon Madzore and 28 other members facing trumped up charges for murdering a policeman were again denied bail by Juctice Chinembiri Bhunu, this time postponing the bail hearing indefinitely.
We find this action ridiculous, a mockery of democracy and a sign that the hands of Zanu PF are in action. Unfortunately their efforts to destabilise the Youth Assembly as we gear into election mood will miserably fail; more than ever we are prepared to defend our vote and ensure that a scenario like the one in 2008 doesn’t happen again.
We call upon the immediate and unconditional release of our President Solomon Madzore and 28 others being held by this ruthless regime.
