The society carried out feasibility studies of rural areas in need of assistance and identified Chivi as one of the areas in need of urgent attention.
The Secretary General for the society, Lucky Goteka, said a team was already in Chivi to implement the project.
The money will be used to drill 50 boreholes and to rehabilitate 350 run down boreholes. Some will also go towards constructing toilets.
