He received a gold medal and certificate from the Council and Senate of Witwatersrand University and also received an Honorary Award from ‘Rebirth of Africa House’ for his involvement in restoration of dignity to Zimbabweans and other African nationalities living in South Africa.

“I have people at heart and if I am honoured to for serving people it makes me a happy man. I would appreciate seeing all those political and economic refugees having proper lives one day across the world, and then my mission will be accomplished,” he said after receiving the award. Activist and Zimbabwe Youth Wing secretary, Brian Muziringa said: “We have more than 500 Zimbabwean refugees under his wing here at the church and it’s difficult for a man to look after one child but he has managed through the past decade. No one has such a great kind heart like him, he really deserves it,” he said.
