The event was organised by the National Youth Information & Publicity Secretary Clifford Hlatwayo and Mpumelelo Ndlovu the Acting National Youth Organising Secretary.

Hlatwayo gave a presentation on the MDC’s new economic blueprint JUICE, which stands for Job creation, Upliftment, Capital Investment and Ecology, is the Party’s answer to ZANU PF’s election gimmick that is being falsely marketed under the name of indigenisation. “JUICE is a comprehensive programme that seeks to provide the youths of Zimbabwe with a firm foundation on which they can find decent jobs, live in communities of social justice and the youths can work on accomplishing their cherished personal dreams,” he said.

Kumbirai Muchemwa talked about the draft constitution and how among other things it restricts the power of a once “no-questions asked” presidency to one in which the next President of the country will have to make some of his appointments through Parliament. There were further discussions on what has been described as an impeccable bill of rights, the expanded rights of women and the separation of the offices of the Attorney General and the Independent National Prosecuting Authority.

The North West District was represented by its leadership, chairman Shingirai Mangena, Loveness Zihera, Youth Chair Tinashe Mlambo, Bonalelo Merere. Other Provincial members who attended were Lovemore Chikandiwa, Mambo Rusere, Winnie Rusere, Giyani Dube, Isabel Mkhosi, Butholezwe Nyathi and Diamond Chadya.
