Prosecutor Stancelous Kanyemba told the court that on May 29, Navaya went to visit Farai Sisanda and a fight broke out in which Sisanda suffered a knife wound.
Magistrate Mildred Mutuvi ruled that a custodial sentence would be appropriate because the use of a lethal weapon was a serious offence.
Navaya will serve four months of the sentence, with the remainder of the period suspended for four years on the condition of good behaviour.
