Zimbabwe Football Association Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze, said the association did not have any other means of raising funds for the Warriors apart from football international matches, hence the need to capitalize on such matches.
In a statement, Mashingaidze said they need about $60 000 for player bonuses on top of $50 000 for accommodation for the two teams as well as an additional $10 000 for the match officials.
The game has been moved to Rufaro Stadium instead of the traditional National Sports Stadium as the authorities are contending that the stadium is undergoing renovations.
Suprisingly, the match between the Zimbabwean and the Zambian Defence Forces teams was played at the NSS while Caps United also hosted Dynamos at the same venue.
However, sources have revealed that Zifa still owe the ministry of Public Services thousands of dollars for services rendered for the last game in which the Warriors beat Burundi 1-0.
The Warriors need a to win by a glut of goals in the first leg to give themselves a realistic chance of qualifying ahead of the second leg to be held in Luanda two weeks later.
