Their popular G and T Street band performs free public entertainment at Pioneer house, corner Fife Avenue and 8th Street every day. Band leader and talented guitarist, Dube told The Zimbabwean that the band had already done the recording with a local studio company and the CD is expected to be out before Christmas.
“We have hired someone to assist us with instrumental keyboard on the CD. All the songs were composed by the two of us,” said Dube.
Some of the songs, mostly gospel tracks, are Munondida, Ndinovimba Naye, Rock of Age, Mwari Mubatsiri and Nyasha Dzamwari.
Dube started singing in 1989 at a pavement near Meikles store in the city centre, and recorded his first country album titled – Listen to Words I say – in 1995. Munodawafa joined him in 2006 as a backing vocalist.
“We survive on donations from well-wishers in the streets who appreciate our music . At times we are hired to perform at public functions such as weddings and church gatherings,” said Dube, who appealed for donations of musical equipment such as amplifier, microphones and guitars. Both have been blind since they were toddlers.
