Muhlekazi releases debut album

Dubbed the best rhythm guitarist by hordes of Rhumba music followers, MuhlekaziKulube has released his debut album entitled ‘Impumelelo’ meaning success.

The seven-track album bemoans lost culture and social injustices arising from poverty and highlights the difficulties of losing parents at tender ages and life as an orphan.

Speaking to The Zimbabwean, Kulube expressed worry over waning cultures across the country.

“We have seen people shunning their cultures and adopting foreign methods of surviving in life. This has led to multiple problems. We need to revisit and restore our culture for the country to regain its statu. If culture is constantly ignored nothing will erase social problems we encountering on daily bases. We have seen people losingtheir lives under mysterious circumstances, young children raped and young girls forced into prostitution. That can be corrected by revisiting our culture,” urged Kulube, who lost his father at a very young age. “My life turned sour as I couldn’t reach my goals in life. I ended up failing to reach higher levels of education due to orphanage issues,” he said

Kulube played the rhythm guitar for the high selling Themba Mathe’s album ‘samaWrong’ released last year. Prominent musicians Mokis Connection, Ndux Junior and other groups from Matabeleland region also rely on his skills.
