The former Zimbabwe international player collapsed while on his morning jogging drills and the cause of his death is yet to be established but ZC has already issued a statement on his death.
KC, as he was known by friends and cricket fanatics, was in Mutare with his team Mashonaland Eagles where he was preparing for a T20 clash with Mountaineers on Wednesday. The match has since been postponed.
ZC head of communications Shingai Ruhwaya Koti expressed shock at the death of Curran and said cricket would never be the same again.
"It is with great shock and sadness that ZC has learnt of the tragic passing away of national team selector, cricket committee member and Mash Eagles Coach, Kevin Curran in Mutare early this morning (Wednesday). He collapsed suddenly while jogging and the exact cause of death has not been determined at this stage", she said.
Mashonaland Eagles Chief Executive Vimbai Mapukute described Curran as the most passionate cricketer the country will ever have.
"I have yet to meet a man more passionate about cricket in this country; KC had put his heart and soul into developing our franchise and had great plans for our high performance gym and other facilities. his passing will leave a huge void at Mash Eagles and I feel that I have not only lost a business ally but a friend as well", he said.
Curran 's international debut was when he walked in, as a right arm seamer, to the field at Trent Bridge in 1983 world Cup, a match that Zimbabwe trounced Australia by 13 runs .
