Tarumbwa was tipped to join Dynamos as a direct replacement for former chief striker, Takesure Chinyama, who is now playing for South African champions, Orlando Pirates. The 26-year-old former Highlanders goal-getter, who had also attracted ABSA Premiership newboys, Pretoria University, was a free agent after he was released by another Cypriot side, Apop Kinyras, who were dissolved due to bankruptcy.
Tarumbwa had a poor stint with his former club, for whom he scored five goals in 20 appearances, spread over two seasons. However, he steered his new club to victory with a debut away goal at Paeek Kyrenia, which proved to be the match-winner.
