The papers were collected from the Zimsec office in Bulawayo last Friday. It is not clear how the papers disappeared and Zimsec is reportedly investigating the matter.
The missing papers include English Paper 1 and 2 (18 copies), Geography papers 1 and 2 (16 copies), Ndebele Paper 1 and 2 (16 copies) and Mathematics Non Calculator Version (18 copies).
Also missing are 30 copies of the three Integrated Science question papers and 20 copies of both Commerce papers.
Zimsec Board Chairperson, Norman Maphosa said the disappearance of the papers had nationwide ramifications.
“Zimsec has cancelled all the papers for the missing subjects at all examination centres countrywide (and) is now replacing all the 13 question papers with new ones,” he said.
He added that the original timetable for examinations would however not be affected.
Maphosa urged all those involved in handling examination material to exercise due diligence to avoid leakages.
Zimsec has a total of 2 118 Ordinary Level Centres. The November O-level candidature increased from 254 000 in 2011 to 286 343 this year.
