Addressing hundreds of party supporters at Huruyadzo Shopping Centre in St Marys Chitungwiza today, MDC- T Secretary General and finance minister said for the justice minister to think that he has the power to reject an elected leader is wishful thinking.
“Chinamasa is well versed with the constitution and he knows that election results should be respected. For him to incite a coup in Zimbabwe is treasonous which deserves jail time,” said Tendai Biti.
He warned army generals that for them to think that they have the power to refuse saluting an elected leader has adverse implications with the law.
“We are poised for victory and we will not allow the next election to be stolen. The party is ready to defend the vote in the event that Zanu (PF) refuses to hand over power in the forthcoming elections,” he said.
MDC- T organizing secretary who is also Chamisa warned ‘old cronies’ within government under the Zanu (PF) ticket that their time was up and they are supposed to start packing.

He accused their Zanu (PF) partners in the GNU of derailing development by introducing policies that destroy investor confidence in the country.
