Speaking after receiving the award Assassin said this is a beginning of a long journey which needs unity within Zimbabwean community for him to reach greater heights.
"I thank everyone who voted n everyone who has supported the music even in a small way you are all appreciated. I promise u this first of many on this musical journey. With your support as a unified front in this music industry, I will surely continue to uplift my country's flag high no matter on what ground," expressed the former Howard High student who is currently riding high with singles Black Hope and Amai featuring Trevor Dongo.
Born in 1981, Rhyme Assassin spent the early years of his life in Highfield, where he started writing songs and performing at high schools gigs. Between
1999 and 2001 he made some significant progress on the music scene featuring in various contests, before leaving for the UK.
