Assassin releases 5th single

UK-based high flying award winning hip-hop star, Tichaona ‘Rhyme Assassin’ Monera will tomorrow (Monday) released his fifth single track entitled ‘City is Mine’.

The single is dedicated to his fans and all those who nominated him to win the Zimbabwe Music and Arts award given to Zimbabweans in diaspora through release of his fifth single entitled.

He told the Zimbabwean, “This single comes as a celebratory track for my fans and every Zimbabwean out there after winning the UK ZIMMA Male artist of the year award. I am to celebrating with all my fans because they are the ones that have made this possible and to make them see that their support is appreciated. I am doing all this for the whole Zimbabwean Hip Hop community,” he said.

“Releasing another single is like laying another brick on a building under construction. It’s a statement to my fans out there that Rhyme Assassin is a serious and determined artist. An accumulation of these singles is a build-up to his 26 tracked debut album ‘Grand Synopsis’, a first double CD in the hip hop circuit of Zimbabwe set to hit streets early next year,” he added.

Assassin is acclaimed for his previous singles still topping chats in Zimbabwean and South African airwaves which includes Tyoka, Handikusiye feat Astral Vee, Black Hope and Amai feat Trevor Dongo.

Born in 1981, Rhyme Assassin spent the early years of his life in Highfield, where he started writing songs and performing at high schools gigs. Between 1999 and 2001 he made some significant progress on the music scene featuring in various contests, before leaving for the UK.
