“I am now focusing on my books. I have finished a Diploma in Sports Management, and a Certificate in Business Management with the University of South Africa. Next year, I will be registering for a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing. I would really like to be involved in football at administration level because not all former players can be coaches.”
Kapowezha, a product of the renowned Darryn T youth programme, made his professional debut for Caps United in 1995. He made a lasting impression outside the country, playing for such sides like Lech Poznan, Dyskobolia and Sokol Tychy in Poland. He also starred for Wits University, Ria Stars, Amazulu and his last club, FC Azziz Kara. He has 25 caps for his country, including five for The Warriors.
“The highlight of my career was when I score four goals during the qualifiers for the 1996 Olympic Games. I was joint top goal scorer with Nigeria’s Nwanko Kanu, although we lost our final match to Nigeria, who went on to win the tournament in Atlanta,” he said.
