School gets new classrooms

Pupils at Gandadzanwa Primary School no longer need to use tobacco barns as classrooms following a donation by Hear Africa Canada that went towards the construction of five classroom blocks at the school.

Hear Africa Canada channeled $18 000 into the purchase of building materials while villagers moulded bricks and provided labour. Hear Africa Secretary, Ginny Sawatsky, said their organisation would continue to collaborate with local underprivileged communities to enhance the quality of education.

“Our organisation will continue to assist the marginalized communities by constructing classroom blocks to make sure our children access quality education,” said Assistant Mutare District Administrator, Simon Sigauke.

She paid tribute to parents for assisting the school by moulding bricks. School head, Lenos Mwaturura, thanked Hear Africa Canada for their gesture saying it would go a long way towards improving the quality of education for the pupils.
