The Warriors who did not have any international engagements in November have dropped three places down the ladder and are now placed 101 in the world, down from 98 when the last rankings were updated.
Zimbabwe share the same world ranking with Sudan as both have accumulated a total of 349 points.
Sudan, though, are on 25th position in Africa while the Warriors are 26th on the continent. Due to their inconsistency, the Warriors have been in and out of the world’s top 100 in the Fifa rankings and were at one time at 106 on the globe.
What is surprising is that thanks to the computer that updates the rankings Zimbabwe are placed above the Democratic Republic of Congo who have qualified for the 2013 Nations Cup.
Claude Le Roy side are 107 in the world and 29th in Africa.
The Warriors, however, are likely to plummet further down the rankings as some of the clubs from the continent will some of the teams from the continent will soon be involved in a friendly matches as the teams that qualified for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations get involved in preparatory matches.
The current standings are, however, unlikely to have an immediate impact on the Warriors as the next real competition the Warriors are going to be drawn against other teams is the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations the draw of which is way to go.
Rankings are used to seed teams in draws for international competitions. Teams ranked lowly play in the preliminary round matches.
As has been the case since the beginning of the year, the Ivory Coast remain Africa’s top football teams followed by Algeria, Mali, Ghana and Zambia. Ivory Coast are 14th in the world while Nigeria are 19th.
One of the African teams Mauritania is ranked 206, the last team on the Fifa rankings and are also the last in Africa on 54th.
Spain who have been at the top of the world since winning the 2010 World Cup in South Africa are still at the top with Germany, Argentina, Italy and Colombia. Former World champions and 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil are 18th.
