
Suggestions are that Chiefs and Sundowns were favourites to lure the player to Gauteng. While the 22-year-old has previously insisted he was only open to a move to Europe, preferably mother club, Ajax Amsterdam, he remained coy during an interview this week.
“I am aware of the rumours but unfortunately, this is not a good time to talk about it,” Billiat told The Zimbabwean.
Since making his debut against Mamelodi Sundowns on his 20th birthday, the diminutive winger has been one of the Cape side’s standout performers.
Meanwhile, Ajax are looking to extend the contract of midfielder Tafadzwa, which runs until the end of the season.
“We are close to finalizing the extension of Rusike and Nhlanhla Vilakazi’s contracts and we are hoping to conclude them soon,” said CEO, George Comitis.
