Justice Hlekani Mwayera granted an order for divorce by consent when the matter was heard at the High Court today.
In December last year, the matter was postponed to today after Justice Mwayera noted irregularities in papers filed by lawyers representing Nhema’s ex-wife who instituted the divorce case which was unopposed by the Zanu (PF) legislator.
Justice Mwayera granted the divorce order after lawyers for Louise rectified anomalies that appeared in the first court papers which showed Louise’s name as Louisa.
Nhema is the latest Zanu (PF) figure to be involved in a divorce case this year.
In September last year, Zanu (PF) National Chairperson, Simon Khaya Moyo, filed divorce papers at the High Court claiming his wife, Sibonokuhle Getrude Moyo, was bedding another man.
In the same month, Local Government, Rural and Urban Development Minister, Ignatius Chombo’s divorce case with his wife Marian Mhloyi was finally settled in the High Court.
The case exposed Chombo’s vast wealth after his wife was allocated six haulage trucks and trailers, an AVM bus, an 18 tonne truck, a tanker, four cars and eight immovable properties.
Chombo was allocated property at his Allan Grange farm in Raffingora, an immovable property in Norton, flats at Eastview Gardens and a stand in Kariba.
However, Chombo’s wife claimed the Minister had vast wealth he was hiding from her.
