Titled ‘Bekezela’ (be patient) the 11-track album is already enjoying and dominating continued airplay in South Africa’s various radio stations including highly followed uKhozi FM.

“We need our people to be patient towards attaining complete social equality. We preach total democracy through our music and our fellow countrymen must be tolerant towards it,” said Mxolisi Mavundla, organiser of the Zimbabwean Isicathamiya/Imbube group,

Also featured in the album are hit tracks Laduma, Highlanders (a song dedicated to former football champions)and Waduka nezwe – a track encouraging those in the Diaspora to always remember their roots.

The 12-member group, which includes five locals, became the first Zimbabwean act to be nominated for the annual South African Traditional Music Awards in 2011. The group shot to instant fame following the success of its album Emthethwandaba (in court) in 2010.

The group, which sings like Grammy Award-winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo, was invited to back a local artist in Germiston in 2010, and was immediately signed on by Lethumbuso Music.
