Triathletes race for honors

This Sunday marks the biggest rendezvous in the Zimbabwe Triathlon calendar as Zimbabwe's top triathletes compete for the countries number one award.

The countries Golden Girl in the sport, Laurelle Brown, has returned from Australia to defend her crown and should impress everyone with a new found turn of speed gained from her recent International training camp down under.

Also well worth watching will be last years' Junior African Champions Skye Davidson and Drew Williams who now move up to the Olympic Half Distance event. They will be keen to confirm the class they indicated at the Continental Champs last year.

But it will not be an easy ride for the duo as they will face stiff opposition from established local favorites Marcus Philp and Karishma Patel.

The event doubles as a team selection race as Zimbabwe prepares herself for another raid on the SA Provincial Champs later on this month.

According to Triathlon Zimbabwe coach, Wayne Davidson, the event starts at 09:00 on Sunday at the Mount Pleasant pool Complex, and will feature a host of entertaining racing over Quarter, Half and the gruelling Olympic distance races.
