The Zimbabwean correspondent says inKaroi town, Magunje and Nemamwa communal lands, voters were coming in trickles, with polling booths going for some time without any actvitiy.
“By 8 am, most polling stations had not received more than 20 voters each. The people are complaining that they were not adequately informed about the draft and therefore were not excited,” said Criswell Chisa, our correspondent.
Meanwhile, MDC polling agents who had sought to observe the polls without accreditation were turned away in Karoi town.
A local observer confirmed that he had seen MDC-T party agents ejected from most of Karoi polling stations in Chikangwe high density suburb.
‘’MDC-T party agencies had no proper accreditation from ZEC and are seeking clarification over the issue.
MDC-T provincial spokesperson Big Haurovi confirmed that indeed it was a directive that all political parties must be withdrawn from polling stations as observers.
‘’Yes it is true that political party agencies have no role to play in this exercise as it is from the Government. All political party agencies will not be allowed as observers. They said they got the signal from Harare’’ said Haurovi.
