Mutuma joined ABSA Premiership side, Bloemfontein Celtic, on a three-year contract during the January transfer window, but has not kicked the ball in any competitive match, due to delays by South African Home Affairs Department to issue him with a work permit.

“I have been patient for some time, hoping that this issue would be sorted out soon, but frustration is beginning to creep in and Home Affairs is the cause of all that,” said the 2012 Golden Boot Award winner in the Zimbabwean PSL. “No explanation has so far been given on the delay and that is the most worrying thing because I have waited for about a month now.”

Celtics spokesperson Sello Nduna, also recently said the delay was affecting the club, who needed to see their new signing in action, as the league enters the home straight and fight for the Nedbank Cup enters the quarter-final stage.

Home Affairs spokesperson, Manusha Pillai, promised The Zimbabwean early this week that the department would take an urgent look at the issue.
