Zimbabwe is due to hold elections in the coming months and if past experience is anything to go by the potential for politically related violence is high. Despite the talk of peace the hurt, intimidation, murder and mayhem continue in communities across the country.
The people of Zimbabwe in South Africa have, therefore, decided to invoke the word and works of The Lord together with their South African counterparts.
In recognition of the potential for the country to move forever backwards during the forthcoming national elections the people of Zimbabwe in South Africa would like to hold a prayer service at which they can express the following:
• Express their gratitude to the Lord Almighty that the country has a new constitution that we can all be proud of.
• Pray for national elections to be held in environment of peace and tranquillity.
• Implore the people of South Africa and the Government of South Africa to continue their efforts in final resolution of the Zimbabwe issue.
The problems in Zimbabwe have not been resolved and yet we continue to believe that while the moral arc of the universe is long it bends towards justice. We look forward to that opportunity where we can kneel down and pray to our Lord, be thankful for what we have and at the same time ask for more.
The dates and times for the prayer are as follows:
Date: 6th April 2013
Venue: Hebron Church, 713 Hebron Road, North West
Time: 0900 to 1530 hours
Contact: Mambo Rusere 078 293 7179
