A viral murder scare on Google Earth has turned out to be nothing more gruesome than a Dutch dog enjoying a swim.
Millions of people clicked on a link to a satellite map photo image of what looked like a trail of blood on a jetty and two people looming over a body.
But the 'crime scene' was really a photo of a golden retriever called Rama which had just enjoyed a swim at Beatrixpark, Almere, Holland, reports The Sun.
And what viewers believed to be bood was water which turned the decking dark brown as Rama raced back to owner Jacquelina Koenen and shook himself.
Keonen, 52, said: "When I saw the picture I realised, 'It's my dog'. He loves the water.
"He jumps off the end of the jetty, swims round to the bridge and runs down to the edge again.
"It's hilarious that everyone thought it was murder. But it's great he's now world famous."
Local police confirmed: "It's not a murder. It's a dog."
Pampered pig prefers beach to farm
A miniature pig called Ziggy J Piggy is turning heads in the fashionable beach resorts of Australia's Sunshine Coast.
The five-month-old porkie, a constant companion to owner Jan Leader, is right into cafe culture and loves nothing better than snuffling babycinos at his local coffee shop.
And Ziggy also loves the beach where he proves a distraction for curious dogs and their owners who double-take when they realise he's no pooch.
Leader says: "I take him everywhere with me. He just sits in the car and after half an hour he sleeps the rest of the way."
She says that Ziggy was toilet trained in four days, and grunts to indicate when he needs to answer the call of nature.
In the time that Ms Leader has had him, Ziggy has grown from 2.9kg to 11.5kg. He could eventually reach 30kg.
Angry bird besieges family in their home
A Shropshire family say a furious cock pheasant is besieging them in their sleepy village home.
Sally-Ann Hudson, 44, says the angry bird lies in wait for her and attacks every time she goes outside.
The medical secretary has taken to pulling on thick gloves and wielding a badminton racket to fend off the bird.
The pheasant, which she has nicknamed Phil, even headbutts the living room windows and pecks at the windscreen of her Ford Ka.
Hudson, of Wentnor, said: "We began to realise he was unlike other pheasants. He'd stare at us through the windows.
"I go from one room to another and he runs round following my movements. He even tries to get inside – it's like Hitchcock's film The Birds."
Paul North, of the World Pheasant Association, said: "He obviously sees her as a rival male – pheasants are very territorial."
Police mugshot prompts marriage proposals
A woman's police mugshot has gone viral, prompting declarations of love and even proposals of marriage from around the world.
Meagan Simmons, 27, of Tampa, Florida, was arrested for drink-driving in 2010 and the mugshot photo of her in an orange jumpsuit was recently posted on Reddit.
And the separated mother-of-four has since received an avalanche of gentlemanly attention, including dozens of marriage proposals.
Men added their own corny captions to the mugshot such as 'GUILTY – of taking my breath away', and 'Arrested for breaking and entering – YOUR HEART'.
Social media sites were overtaken by comments from men wanting to marry her, looking for her phone number and asking if she is a model.
One wrote: "Come to Ireland, I'll put you up for a while and you can work in my friend's pub while you find your feet, look up your family history and then move on to something better."
Another added: "I hope if you have a man he takes care of you and showers you with love and tenderness. If we were together you would need for nothing."
Simmons said she wasn't completely happy with all of the attention and had been forced to block people on social networks who had sent her rude messages.
"It's crazy lol – I don't understand what all the hype is about," she wrote on Twitter. "That arrest was in 2010 get over it already. I think the pic is terrible honestly."
