Radebe is a respected Human Rights lawyer who has won many cases against the South African Department Home Affairs.
“I was shocked to note that three years after the launch of the Zimbabwean Documentation Project, we still have a lot of people who have not received their permits,” said Radebe. “This is a serious issue which needs urgent attention. I want every Zimbabwean to approach me free of charge and I will make sure that justice is done.”
Zimbabwean refugee, Roberts Chirikure, a beneficiary of Radebe’s project, encouraged fellow countrymen to embrace the opportunity.
“I got my refugee status after Radebe intervened and challenged Home Affairs. Those with pending cases relating to documentation should grab this opportunity,” said Chirikure.
Last month a DHA official, Ronney Marhule, told The Zimbabwean that the permit transfer process took a maximum period of 30 days and they are trying hard to clear the permit application backlog. Radebe can be contacted on +27 84 994 2938 or +27 11 3330926/7
