Defence lawyer Chris Mhike told The Zimbabwean that the matter had been allocated for trial starting today.
“Magistrate Don Ndirowei postponed the case to Thursday after the allocated magistrate failed to turn up,” Mhike said.
The case was today being prosecuted by Michael Reza while the defence team was being led by Alec Muchadehama and Mhike.
Police allege that the four officials, Thabani Mpofu and Felix Matsinde, both former state prosecutors, and Mehluli Tshuma and Warship Dumba possessed police files on corruption cases.
They are facing charges of violating the Official Secrets Act.
Mhike also revealed that the defence would be applying for further postponement of the case on Thursday because it has not been furnished with all the state papers.
The MDC-T party says the arrests of its officials are part of wider political intimidation ahead of crucial elections expected sometime later this year.
The four were freed on bail on 27 March by High Court Judge Justice Chinembiri Bhunu. They were arrested at Tsvangirai’s communications office unit on 17 March.
Prominent human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa, also arrested by police while trying to represent the four officials will also be going on trial on 27-31 May on charges of obstructing the course of justice.
Mtetwa and the four deny any wrongdoing. She is out on $500 bail.

No one is surprised with the case postponements as it is public knowledge that the accused have no case to answer but simply fell on the way of a cruising autocratic train.
