Chidzambga vows to fight

Should he retain his position in the Black Leopards technical department, former Warriors coach, Sunday Chidzambga, will work towards returning the Limpopo-based side back into the PSL within a season.

There were no early signs that the Zimbabwean would be stripped of his position at the end of the season, but Leopards management could still spring some surprises. Zimbabwe’s most successful coach is still focused on the challenge for bouncing back to the ABSA Premiership in 12 months.

“With a few games remaining, we had already surrendered our fate to a miracle happening, but that does not mean we stopped fighting,” he said. “We know we failed our supporters in a big way by failing to cling on, but we promise that we will fight to regain our topflight league status next season. The team played well, but did not have all the luck to win games and remain at the top.” Chidzambga said he would love to stay with the team in the first division. “I would really love to see my contract to its end, which will be one year from now, but my heart is always with this club and if asked to continue, I will definitely renew with great pleasure,” he added.
