MDC-T activists released without charge

The two Epworth MDC-T activists who were being held by police on allegations of convening an unsanctioned meeting with residents have been released without charge.

The two, Tarisai Musarudzwa and another one identified as Dhlamini, were arrested yesterday evening together with Samson Ketuno and Joseph Kumboyedza following an anonymous letter of their alleged crime written to Epworth Police Station by an undisclosed informant.

Ketuno and Kumboyedza were, however, released yesterday following intervention by the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights lawyer, Kennedy Masiye.

Musarudzwa and Dhlamini were this morning transferred from Epworth Police Station to Harare Central Police Law and Order Section where they were released.

Masiye confirmed the release of his two clients to The Zimbabwean. “They have been released without any charges being preferred against them,” he said.
