Nani Ntengo, the lead vocalist, told The Zimbabwean, “Going there is always wonderful and Zimbabwe is our second home in music. We started touring there in 1993.” The group has sold more than 100,000 copies and has many fans in Zimbabwe. “We have been quiet for some time and now is the time for us to be effective again. Emseleni is a wedding song and teaches and encourages the couple to respect the values of marriage.
After being on the side-lines for the past five years the group has been preparing something powerful for the fans. They released their previous album Mamaka Nomthandazo in 2008. The group was formed 24 years ago under the supervision of Freddy Gwala. The full album with 10 songs will be out in the middle of June under their own label “Platform One Music”.
Nani also said the album had moved with the dynamics of music to accommodate today’s audience. “We have launched our own music label, it caters for all age groups and our promotion has kick-started and Zimbabwe is our first international tour,” she said.
Themba Thanjekwayo, the group manager, said he was happy to work with such a dedicated and matured group. “This is one of the giants in the music industry, and I am looking forward to taking them to new heights. Our priority is to make Zimbabwe believe more in this type of music. It is important for everyone to go back to their roots and we plan to take people down memory lane,” he said.

A gentle brightness.
In the sound
of a primrose
a luminous
feeling recalls
the atmosphere
of a sullen
desire.
