People must open their eyes as they are being trapped and used to manipulate or force others into voting, prolonging the unwelcome over stay of one political party being driven by the chefs. What is sad is that leaders of those so-called secessionist groupings are birds of the same feather with people who staged the tragic Gukurahundi.
I urge all people out there to open eyes and remove blinkers and say a big ‘NO’ to those evil forces being used by security commanders. A big message to desperate youths out there, don’t be used because at the end of the day your so-called leaders are the ones selling you. Don’t be used but rather work together to fight the common enemy. Some of the leaders of these secession groupings were commanders of Gukurahundi – they even admit it.
How can someone currently running a tender where he is sewing uniforms for the army, police and prisons – yet he tells people that they should push for secession at the same time as he is identifying potential people to take out those who might pose a threat to government.
Let’s be wise enough and identify what they want and throw them into the dustbin. Some are calling for secession yet they will be urging people not to register to vote. They are misguided sellouts. Through their bogus groupings irrelevant spokesperson, most of them living in the Diaspora, always disseminate useless information and attack the genuine leaders of our country.
You hear some of them complaining when some political parties talks of compensating people who were affected by Gukurahundi, yet they don’t know what files those senior politicians possess in their offices. To hell with chancers – we need the perpetrators of Gukurahundi to be arrested and the victims compensated. I urge our government to be responsible and compensate our people.
Emmerson Mnangagwa the Minister of State (Security) in the Prime Minister’s Office announced at a rally in Victoria Falls in the early 1980s that he had requested and obtained a cabinet endorsement to kill and fumigate “the whole Ndebele people”. Clearly, he was the architect of Guruhundi.
He, Sydney Sekeramayi and Enos Nkala worked, planned and prosecuted the plan from within the Ministry of Defence. They were the inner closet – the only ones who received reports on what was taking place on the ground. All the strategies were built by this trio. They recommended what they want to see achieved. Nkala believed then that the people of Matabeleland would succumb to the military genocide. He wanted to emerge as the most prominent leader of Matabeleland. He had a passionate hatred for ZAPU and its leader Joshua Nkomo.
Sekeramayi coordinated all issues to do with 5th Brigade training by the North Koreans, who were the pillar of the strategy for subduing Matabeleland into submission. He also oversaw the logistical support for the campaign. It was the grand fulfilment of their desire to become the most powerful politicians in government and in the party. They always had two to three briefing meetings per day at KGVII military barracks and sometimes at Defence House Headquarters. The victims were denied a decent burial, with local communities being instructed to bury the bodies in mass graves so as to instil maximum fear and psychological torture. Could this be the reason why you find Enos Nkala even today touting Emmerson Mnangagwa as the rightful successor to President Robert Mugabe? Is he still contemplating a bounce back into power if Mnangagwa successfully wrestles the leadership from Vice President Joice Mujuru? – Watch-out for part 2 next week.
