Entitled ‘Rangarira Magamba’ (Let’s remember heroes), the track tries to encourage those born after the country attained its independence to have respect for those who gave their life in service to their country.
“Our fellow brothers, especial youths, must understand that our independence did not come on a silver platter, but after a lot of lives were lost and blood spilled,” said the 18-year-old, Katonha. “A lot of our countrymen are buried in unknown graves and we should always salute them.”
As a member of Baba Johane Masowe Church, the teenage Katonha appealed to Zimbabweans to unite and work for peace. “The only way to honour those who fought for this country is through unity. Coming together as one will see us grow as a country in everything. My music challenges our fellow citizens to remain positive towards democracy, peace and stability,” he added.
