“As a young person, I would like to urge all political leaders to make sure that these issues are addressed. I prefer a party that creates space for young people to run for political office.
“I would vote for a party that could show the children of Zimbabwe that it can restore them to the lives they used to know. Another issue that must be addressed to win the youth vote is corruption. I think we are the generation that has suffered the most. We have not been able to enjoy our youth as our fathers did. We have never had a currency that works. We have never had jobs,” Mwanaka said.
Dorothy Mushangwe of Kuwadzana (28) said it was important that politicians restored the rule of law.
“My wish is to see an end to violence and perpetrators of political violence must be brought to book. The vote must reflect the will of the people,” she said.
Chancellor Nyamande from Mabvuku said his fear was that people would be denied the chance to register to vote.
“More time should be given to the process and I would vote for a party that I think can move our country forward,” he said.
Lesedi Mukoja (20) from Harare South said her fear was what might happen to young people during the campaign season.
“I fear the things that could happen to us as young people during campaigning because we want to be free to support parties of our choice. I will go for a party which I believe can help us secure a future in which we can achieve our goals and aims,” she said.
