Chipanga, is a member of the Zanu PF central committee and national youth secretary for external affairs beat the minister in Makoni West.
Other unconfirmed reports are saying that Zanu (PF) spokesman Rugare Gumbo has lost in Mberengwa.
Minister of Defence, Emmerson Mnangagwa’s wife Auxillia has won in Kwekwe-Chirumanzu.
Another party bigwig that has fallen is Paul Mangwana the former co-chairman of the Zimbabwe Constitution Select Committee.
In Redcliff current MP Isheunesu Muza is reported to have been beaten by Haris Ncube. Minister of Justice, Patrick Chinamsa has won in Makoni Central.
In Marondera Central, Ray Kaukonde beat Luke Mukungatu, Bernard Taruvinga, Harold Gamu and Nelson Watyoka.
In Chikomba West Mike Bimha beat Douglas Makuku. In Bikita West Munyaradzi Kereke is reported to be the victor.
The party’s primaries had been scheduled to be completed by 7 pm last night but due to widespread chaos many had to be carried over to today and in some areas voting was still to be completed by midday.
At some polling station there were still no voting materials as late as 5 pm yesterday. In Chitungwiza some voters refused to leave the polling stations well into the night before they had been given the chance to vote.
In Zaka some voters were disgruntled when the polling station was changed after midday when they had been waiting since 7 am at the original site.
In some areas the primaries were held at schools across the country in breach of government policy that prohibits partisan political programmes at schools.
Children lost learning time as lessons could not be held at the same time as the elections.
The primary elections have seen some of the most serious infighting in the party to date. Disgruntled supporters recently gathered at the party’s headquarters to demonstrate against the disqualification of their preferred candidates.
The elections are being run by the party’s provincial elections directorate.
