Fake cops in $100,000 heist

Fake police officers wearing anti-riot gear recently pounced on a local estate company and made off with over $100,000.

Sources said the three robbers targeted the estate agent, CC Sales, at the company’s offices in the city on June 18. They robbed two employees at gunpoint of $90 000 and 20 000 Rands that was locked in a safe.

“The three approached a company employee Naina Govana and told her they were searching for Anderson Kaisa, a worker at CC Sales whom they alleged was a suspect. When they were told that Kaisa was not around, one of them produced a pistol and pointed it at Govana and receptionist, Patricia Naisbith, before ordering them to lie down,” said a company employee.

The three then took the money from the safe and fled the scene.

Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the incident and said they had launched a manhunt for the suspects.
